My Story…

As a former Staff Nurse in the NHS, I’ve always appreciated the value of complementary therapies. I qualified as an Adult Nurse in 1995 and early in my career I undertook further training as a massage therapist as a way to bring comfort to patients under my care. I was lucky enough to travel as a nurse and had many enriching experiences in London, Australia, the US & The Netherlands before returning home to Scotland in 2007. Amid personal challenges and mental & physical health concerns, I encountered the profound benefits of Reiki in 2013 when conventional treatments left me fatigued and tired. This was a turning point for me. Since then, I’ve dedicated myself to not only practising reiki but studying the origins of the original Japanese teachings. I have now achieved the level of Reiki Master Teacher and continue to learn alongside my inspiring mentors. Furthermore, my passion for holistic practices led me to train as a Mindfulness facilitator in the NHS and also pursue certification as a Meditation Teacher.

After hanging up my nursing uniform, I enrolled at Stirling University to pursue an MLitt in Creative Writing. Ever since I was a child I’d dreamt of being a writer, but until this point had not found the courage to pursue it. Completing an MLitt as a mature student helped me gain the confidence I needed to realise that I could merge my love for writing with my experience of helping others. This additional skill is now something I also offer to support individuals’ wellbeing.

‘In today’s rush we all think too much, seek too much, want too much and forget about the joy of just being.’
– Eckhart Tolle

Nature Heals

Living in Fife allows me to tap into the beautiful surroundings right outside my front door. When out walking with my dog I love natures’ incredible ability to heal and restore.

From forest walks to ocean views & beaches immersing ourselves in the natural world can bring a sense of peace and rejuvenation. Whether it’s the calming effect of a gentle breeze or the soothing sound of a flowing river, nature offers us a myriad of healing experiences. Taking time to connect with the environment around us can provide a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of daily life. This is something my dog and I are lucky enough to experience everyday in all weathers.
